Jack was born February 8, 1959 in Okinawa. The first
of 4 children, he grew up loving any type of sports. At the age of
4 he found himself in Chile, where his father was stationed in the
Air Force, riding a horse called Fanny. (An arse riding an arse????)
Returning to the United States he spent most of his younger life playing
baseball and football. His next stint with horses was in 1970 in Montevideo,
Uruguay. He started out on a little Tobiano horse and later graduated
to a beautiful horse called Milord. It was here that he learned to
ride Dressage and Show Jumping. Before he had left he had won his
age group in Dressage for Uruguay, and was Vice-Champion of South
America at Cordoba, in Argentina, in show jumping. Before leaving
Uruguay, Milord was one of, if not the winningest horse in show jumping
for his group.
